Counting On

"Demonstrate an understanding of  addition within answers to 100 and the corresponding subtraction" is an important part of grade 2 math learning. Today we started working through some of the strategies for addition :
- counting on
- double facts
- make 10
- zero facts

We started with counting on today. As we go through and learn more addition strategies we will fill in our chart which is currently hanging on our classroom wall.

Try asking your child about "counting on" and maybe even think about exploring the other 3 strategies at home.
