Prairie art
We did prairie landscapes using the element of lines. Lines can be
used to create movement, space, and draw our attentions. As a class, we looked
at photos of prairie landscapes talking about the different lines we could see
in the grass and plains. Lines that were made by colour, wind, and grass
length. We then took that idea of lines in prairies to create our own prairie
landscapes.
Curriculum connection:
“A horizontal line can be
used to divide the picture plane into interesting and varied proportions of sky
and ground.”
“Natural forms have different surface qualities in colour, texture and
tone.”
